I wiped sweat from my forehead as I yanked another weed from Eduardo’s mom’s vegetable garden. In west Texas, October still nineties or, if we were lucky, maybe it would drop into the eighties.
I actually didn’t mind it though. Maybe it was because of all the time spent practicing outside in the heat, that spending time without the pads on felt a lot cooler, or maybe it was remembering what it felt like to do construction with the foreman…
